Terms of Service

Introduction

These Terms of Service outline the agreement between Maza Academics and our clients regarding the provision of tutoring and coaching services. By engaging with our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

1. Service Delivery

  • Services Offered: Maza Academics provides virtual tutoring and coaching services for college essay preparation, SAT preparation, and academic support across various subjects.
  • Session Format: All sessions are conducted virtually via Google Meets, ensuring convenient and accessible learning from any location.

2. Pricing & Payment

  • Pricing Policy: All pricing and packages are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Rush Services for Essay Review: Limited availability; please inquire for confirmation.
    • 48-hour turnaround: 25% surcharge on the standard hourly rate.
    • 24-hour turnaround or less: 50% surcharge on the standard hourly rate.
  • Payment Terms:
    • Payment for packages is due at the time of purchase, unless a specific payment plan has been mutually agreed upon in writing.
    • Accepted Payment Methods: Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and Credit Cards.
    • Refund Policy: Refunds are not available once payment has been processed, including for any unused hours within a package.
    • Post-Package Billing: Once pre-purchased package hours are exhausted, clients will be billed at the standard hourly rate of $250.
    • Late Payment Fee: For hourly services beyond pre-purchased packages, payment must be settled within 3 days of receiving the invoice. Otherwise, a $50 late fee will accrue daily until full payment is made.
  • Billing Increments: All services, including virtual, email, and phone consultations, are billed in 15-minute increments. Time is deducted from package hours or billed at the standard rate once package hours are exhausted.

3. Package Usage

  • Hour Deduction: Time will be deducted from pre-purchased package hours for all services rendered.
  • Expiration & Non-Refundability: Purchased hours must be used within 12 months of the purchase date. Unused hours are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Hour Tracking: Maza Academics will meticulously track all service hours and provide detailed reports upon client request.

4. Scheduling & Cancellations

  • Cancellation Notice: A 24-hour notice is mandatory for the cancellation of any scheduled meetings.
  • Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Meetings canceled with less than 24 hours notice will result in the deduction of the scheduled time from the package or be billed at the full hourly rate if package hours have been exhausted. No-shows (failure to attend a scheduled session without prior notice) will be treated the same as late cancellations. Maza Academics will wait a maximum of 15 minutes for a student to join a scheduled session before it is considered a no-show.

5. Client & Student Responsibilities

  • Academic Guidance vs. Outcome Guarantees: Maza Academics offers expert academic advice and guidance. However, the student and client hold ultimate responsibility for the final quality of the work. No guarantees are made regarding outcomes, including college acceptance or final grades.
  • Required Documents & Deadlines: Clients are responsible for supplying all necessary documents for thorough evaluation and recommendations. Students and clients are also responsible for adhering to all deadlines and responding as necessary to colleges, schools, counselors, and other institutions.
  • Student Conduct: Students are expected to be punctual, communicate respectfully, and actively participate in all sessions. Maza Academics reserves the right to terminate the agreement if the student's conduct is deemed inappropriate or disruptive.
  • Parent/Guardian Involvement: For minor students, parents or guardians are expected to be actively involved in the tutoring process by providing necessary information, supporting the student's learning, and communicating with Maza Academics as needed.

6. Disclaimers & Intellectual Property

  • College Counseling Disclaimer: Maza Academics specializes in providing support for college essay writing and academic tutoring but does not offer comprehensive college counseling services. All queries about application processes, strategies, and essay topics should be directed to the student's designated school or private college counselor. Clients are solely responsible for discussing essay topics, college lists, and application processes with their college counselor.
  • Intellectual Property: All materials provided by Maza Academics are for the client's personal use only and cannot be shared, reproduced, or sold without explicit written permission from Maza Academics.

7. General Terms

  • Confidentiality: Maza Academics pledges to maintain the confidentiality of all records, conversations, and information disclosed by the client, except as necessary to fulfill the terms of this agreement or in cases where there is a concern for physical safety.
  • Data Storage: Maza Academics will store all student work in a secure Google Drive folder, accessible to Maza Academics, the student, and the parent(s) as applicable.
  • Termination: Either party may terminate this agreement at any time by providing written notice to the other party. Any unused hours will not be refunded upon termination.
  • Changes to Terms: These terms, fees, and conditions are subject to change. Clients will be notified of any significant updates.

By engaging Maza Academics' services, clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms of Service.
